Monday Lessons

Learning Standard
Make warranted and reasonable assertions about the author's arguments by using elements of the text to defend and clarify interpretations.

Overarching Question of the day:
What is the process by which it takes a reader to ask relevant questions that are generated through primary and secondary sources?
Quick Write –
Read –
The definition of a source is information provided for use. Look at the list on page 24 and write three sources from the chart and write about their importance.
Read Pages 26 – 28, parts of pages 29-33 (Guided Practice.)
In pairs, work on pages 34 and 35. In your constructed response question on page 35, analyze and evaluate all three sources of information, from pages 26-35.
Analyze is to find the main idea. Determine the writer’s purpose, tone, and its credibility.
Evaluate means to determine the accuracy of the source, generate relevant questions regarding its credibility, and for which audience was it written for?
Turn in your work at the end of the day.
